Latests albums reviews
When I first heard this album, I thought: “damn it, this is exactly the glam, this is exactly very heavy metal glam that I always tried to find in different groups”.
Skid Row gave IMHO their best creation, it seems to me that this album personifies the group. Slave to the Grind turned out to be extremely strong. Glam-rock, filled with hooks and sometimes metallic sound, with powerful riffs, long solos, and a cherry on the cake - an incredible vocal by Bach, crawling through with his head.
This album has everything. Technical, aggressive action-songs (Monkey Business, Livin 'on a Chain Gang, Slave to the Grind) are again fighters, but less diverse but more speedy (Get the Fuck Out, Riot Act) bordering between funk and groove Psycho Love, The Threat, Creepshow, Mudkicker and the three most powerful ballads Quicksand Jesus, In a Darkened Room, Wasted Time. As in the Hollywood canons, the second part (album) is the apotheosis of creativity. This is a technical, powerful, aggressive, stylish and drive album. What can I say, in my understanding, this particular album is pure drive.
